Digital Dabblers Giving Tuesday – Thank you!

Thank you for supporting the Oregon Guild of Digital Dabblers! Where our mission is to provide accessible resources for digital creatives of all levels to learn, make friends, and experience personal growth! Our nonprofit just formally incorporated July of 2024 and became an official 501(c)(3) September of 2024. We have been operating since 2022 and are looking forward to expanding our already successful programs!

Here’s what your donation just supported!!

  • Sliding scale workshops for digital creatives of all abilities, backgrounds, and financial means! https://digitaldabblers.com/workshops/
  • Guild Collaborative projects for charity! Currently a team of volunteer animators are working on FREE educational content for children in Guatemala to understand why cavities form. Partnership with Nuevas Sonrisas. https://nuevassonrisas.org/. Checkout some of our project updates on our videos page.
  • Partnerships with more nonprofits throughout Oregon to offer digital content, marketing, and educational outreach services.
  • Free quarterly teacher trainings for anyone in Portland (regardless of whether they volunteer with us or not!). Taught by Dr. Katya Gorecki (PhD).
  • Free weekly social events on Meetup https://meetup.com/digital-dabblers/
  • Free online lecture recordings and other educational content https://digitaldabblers.com/courses/
  • Support for us to continue growing our virtual memberships and offer low-cost and free tutoring services.
  • Help us showcase Free and Open Source software like Blender, Krita, Godot, WordPress, etc.
  • Helping us cover operating expenses for our digital dabblers event space for members to try out technical equipment: 4k drawing tablets, lab computers, rendering server, lab account and cloud storage space, professional mic’s and 4k mirror-less camera, light table, complimentary art supplies (animation paper, pens/pencils, etc.)
  • And of course self-serve coffee, drinks, and snacks for our members at all events!

Thank you so much for taking this financial leap, we literally could not run this community without you!! -Daniel

A note from the founder:

To all my introverts, aspiring digital artists old and new, 3d modelers, animators, Procreate artists, and illustrators: although Giving Tuesday happens only once a year, this page will be available year-round for anyone who feels inclined to donate. Our community began during the Pandemic and brings together artists from all over Portland, Oregon, California, and even international. Our goal is to avoid financial entanglements with corporate sponsors, or government grants, and instead rely on support from our participants and community partners. By utilizing a fee-for-service model, we are 100% client driven and work tirelessly to offer the best possible services at an extremely affordable price! No other places offer exclusive training in Blender 3d on-site for less than 30 bucks a month! Your support ensures we can continue to thrive and actually serve artists in Oregon without the needless bureaucracy and paperwork that comes from administering grants. Trust me, as the founder of Digital Dabblers, Inc., I have first-hand experience working for the federal government, and working for two nonprofits. With a business/entrepreneurship minor, and engineering degree (focusing on industrial systems optimization), and current role in IT, we run an extremely lean and effective program. We utilize technology effectively and leverage free tools so that our clients do not have to pay $$$ for expensive software. Our administrative overhead costs are extremely low, and we are fortunate enough to have an extremely affordable headquarter office in the heart of Portland’s East side. Dollar-for-dollar 100% of your donation goes directly to supporting the clients we serve and Officers/Directors DO NOT take a salary. So, with much gratitude I must once again say thank you for your support and please share our mission with a friend and refer them to our workshops! It is never too late to escape the isolation/depression that comes from working on your own and join a community of artists working together for public benefit.
