What is Backwards Design?

Backward Design is a way of designing a course that starts with the learning objective – where you want students to be by the end – and develops a curriculum around it. If you arenโt sure where to start, this can help pull ideas together.
Backwards design is when you write everything in reverse order

What are Steps of Backwards Design?

Step 1: Identify Desired Results (learning objectives, workshop goals)
Step 2: Determine Acceptable Evidence (assessment methods, success criteria)
Step 3: Plan Learning Experiences (activities, materials)
Step 4: Finalize your plan (lesson plan, be flexible)
Step 5: Implement and Evaluate (conduct the workshop using the plan you created, be flexible)
