We’ll cover the basics of Blender\, a powerful and popular 3d animation software\, and give you hands-on experience creating and rendering your own 3d models!Agenda: \n\nWe will start by going through an overview of Blender\, the UI\, settings/preferences\, and leave time for open Q/A (20 mins)\nNext we will begin modeling a coffee mug! (30-45 mins)\, this will cover the basics of 3d modeling such as: extruding\, bevel tool\, loop cuts\, tips/tricks for selecting and handling a 3d mesh.\nAfter this we will add some style to your 3d mug! From polished graphic novels to monthly superhero comics\, from manga digests to vertically-scrolling web-comics\, from underground ‘zines to the weird doodles that you shared with your classmates in school\, drawing comics is still a highly popular practice. \nBut how do you get started?This workshop will focus on the essentials of sequential art: \n\nStarting with developing ideas for stories\,\nbreaking them down into simple sketches\,\nand then developing those into a finished comic.\n\nWhether drawing from one’s own life experiences\, telling a story about something that happened to someone else\, creating something instructional\, or spinning an entirely fictional tale\, all of these subjects will be covered over the course of the workshop. \nThe results will be shared within the group and critiques are welcome\, if they are wanted. Coffee\, tea\, seltzer\, and vegan/GF muffins are also available for sale\, with all proceeds going toward helping us cover costs and bring you lots of fun events! \nThank you for your support! If you are unable to spare that is also OK! This event is inclusive to all. \nEVENT DESCRIPTION:Feel free to drop-by anytime in this 5hr window in our new private meeting space! ALL EXPERIENCE LEVELS ARE ENCOURAGED TO JOIN! This week we will be hosting our typical social from 9am-12(ish). PLUS we have regular workshops running after our socials from 1-4pm! \nSUMMARY:Can you draw a stick figure? Well then\, digital and traditional art appreciators\, coffee lovers\, and everyone else! Join us for this extended social and “study hall” of sorts to get inspired\, make new friends\, and work on whatever you want! \nDrawing/painting/animating/rendering on your laptop+tablet\, iPad+Procreate\, galaxy tab\, phone+stylus. Or bring your goodies for pen&ink\, watercolor\, acrylic\, pencil&paper\, whatever interests and inspires you 🙂 \nHOW IT USUALLY WORKS:-First hour people chat and share projects and interests\, last two hours we get “in the zone” and work on projects. Guests are OK but please have them sign-up through Meetup.
