Your identity is welcome at Portland Digital Dabblers.

All members of social and ethnic backgrounds, and of different genders and sexual orientations will be respected and safe to express themselves in a judgment free environment. We believe in fairness and justice. We recognize that we do not all start from the same place, and that we must acknowledge and make adjustments to imbalances. We provide help to those that have experienced disadvantages, and we strive to create a fair and equitable environment for all members. We embrace all people irrespective of race, gender, disability, medical or other need. We believe in giving equal access and opportunities, and in getting rid of discrimination and intolerance. We remove barriers that may prevent members from fully participating in our community.

How can we support you as a member of Portland Digital Dabblers?

We are committed to making our events and workshops accessible to everyone. If you have any accessibility needs, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you. We have elevator access to our office space. We believe that everyone deserves to feel safe and respected in our community. We have a zero tolerance policy for discrimination and harassment. We also offer a buddy system walk out to car for later in the day events, and rides offered by members to public transit stops if needed. We believe that a healthy environment and lifestyle is essential for learning and creativity. Our office space is cleaned professionally by our building management twice a week, and we clean it ourselves prior to each event. We are supporters of vaccinations and have required it for our events. Masks are welcome anytime, no questions asked. We also host healthy events to support mental and physical health, and we create a stress-free environment for learning. All events held in our office are alcohol free.

It’s not about saying the words, or pretending we know everything!

We recognize that the topics of diversity, equity, and inclusion are ever evolving, and we humbly admit that we will not know everything. Our goal is to continue striving to create a more inclusive community as we grow, and we are always open to feedback and ideas.

We offer a space for artists to show up and create art without the pressure to build a portfolio or get likes. We are here for the artists who make art because they have a passion for it, and we want to create a community where they can be seen and supported. We human-centric, we want people to have an emotional experience when they connect with our community.

We are committed to practice DEI in all aspects of the events and workshops we host. We are always learning and growing from our group expanding, and we invite you to join us in our commitment to creating a more inclusive and equitable arts community in Portland, Oregon.
